The home security system has been around for a while. Because of its existence and growing popularity, myths have formed. We wanted to touch on a few of these myths and explain why they are utterly false. This might make you more at ease about purchasing a home security system down the road.
Myth 1: The biggest myth that we hear is that home security systems are just way too expensive. Because of their growing popularity, more and more companies have started popping up with their ow version and own pricing. As such, the consumer has a great advantage here. They get lower prices and the same quality since there are so many options and they will all be competing for YOU.
Myth 2: Contract lengths are allegedly way too long. We’re not sure where this one started. The longest contract out there is 3 years. The majority of contracts are less though. That means that your home security system contract might less time than your own cell phone contract! There are even month to month options out there. The longer the contract, the less the monthly price. With that being said, there are no 5 year contracts out there.
Myth 3: Pets automatically mean you can’t have an alarm system. Again, NOT true. Pets might trip a motion detector sensor. That doesn’t mean that you can’t strategically place the motion detector. It also doesn’t matter that much. Yes, it is a primary defensive mechanism that your home might use, but it is certainly not the ONLY one out there. You have plenty of other types of sensors that you can substitute instead. Motion glass sensors are the most common substitutes.
Myth 4: Finally, the last myth that we hear a lot is that just because you live in a safe neighborhood, does not mean that you are safe from intruders. We are’t trying to scare you or tell you that your house is getting broken into next week. But it is always better to be safe than sorry and everyone is at risk.
