All security systems are required to go through a company before they contact the proper authorities. You could say that if there’s a false alarm and the police don’t come because you tell the security system company that there is no issue. That’s not reall considered a false alarm! See, not nearly as big a deal as you would think. There’s a fail-safe for you.

Most of the time, the security system company is alerted because you’ve simply forgotten to disarm the security system. The security system will be beeping as soon as the alarm is tripped. Assuming there is no problem, you’re going to want to disarm the security system to get it to stop making noise. Just stay calm and relaxed. It’s pretty easy to get stressed out when you’re trying to make the darn thing quiet and there it is, screaming at you. Once you do that, the security system company will call you.

Once the security system company calls you, tell them that there is no problem. They will ask for a safe word. Provide it, and viola! Both of you are on with your day. Once that’s been confirmed you’re in the clear.

False alarms are real hassle for everyone, so definitely get into a set routine when you walkinto your home. Most of the time, it’s just from forgetting to disarm the security system. Especially if you’re new to the security system world.
