With this holiday in full blast, it’s hard not to get carried away in the spirit and fun of the day. However, you might be surprised just how many incidents occur that are unsafe and dangerous, and how likely it is that you and your friends and partygoers could face some of the dangers. Some of these dangers include burglaries that could be better avoided with interactive . Then, there are extra cars on the roads; more fires in one day; more pools open on Memorial Day. Here are some surprising Memorial Day safety incident statistics recently released by SimpliSafe:

1. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 12,000 kids up to age 19 who died of accidental injuries did so in June, July, and August.

2. Barbecue grill fires result in about 8,000 home fires annually, according to the National Fire Protection Association.

3. 2.7 million children visit the ER each summer relating to injuries in the backyard or around the pool. Another 200,000 children end up in the ER for playset-related injuries each year.

Interestingly, additional news sources are saying that Memorial Day and house parties are a high-risk time for home security systems invasions by burglars.
