Kwikset Ramps-Up Home Security and Automation with Release of New Deadbolt Featuring Innovative Technology

Kwikset, one of the world’s top manufacturers of locks, deadbolts and other home security equipment, has just announced the release of its newest product—the 2nd Generation SmartCode deadbolt with HomeConnect technology. The newest product from the technology-advanced Kwikset company gives users the chance to easily integrate their home door locks into their security systems, and manage everything remotely from a tablet or smartphone.

This new product is among the most innovative introduced in Kwikset’s home automation and security products. The SmartCode deadbolt features a new lock design that offers customers an increased level of design aesthetic. The lock also features a redesigned quiet-drive locking system. The lock is designed to combine unparalleled level of design, along with a high level of performance and technology.

Other featuresoffered by the new product include:

• Sleek, all-metal interior escutcheon with decorative inset

• 10-digit backlit pushbutton keypad

• Dedicated lock button

• BHMA Grade 2 Certification, ensuring top quality and durability

• UL Certification with 20 minute fire rating

• A Master Code option that allows the user to prevent user codes from being added to or deleted from the lock

SmartCode locks and deadbolts manufactured by Kwikset with Home Connect Technology combine home security and home automation, which means the locks have the capability to communicate wirelessly with other products in the home, such as home entertainment systems and security systems.

The Home Connect technology offers users the unique capability to lock and unlock their doors remotely, ensuring a high level of home security is maintained at all times. When this technology is utilized with a home automation system, the homeowner can also receive updates via text message if a door is locked or unlocked at any time. It’s for this reason that this type of technology has gained popularity, particularly among families with working parents who want the ability to ensure children’s safety during work hours.

Other technology available with the use of SmartCode locks from Kwikset include SmartKey, which is a way for users to re-key their locks in a matter of seconds. To re-key using SmartKey, the user is not required to take the lock off the door. Additionally, with the use of SmartCode products, users can take advantage of BumpGuard technology that prevents locks from bumping, one-touch programming and a number of different styles and finishes.

According to Kwikset, the SmartCode products can easily and seamlessly blend with a number of wireless home security systems and home automation systems from a variety of service providers.
