Prep Your Home for a DIY Security System

Your DIY security system is newly purchased and just waiting to be installed in your home. It wont take long to install and all you need is a set of directionsand some quick prep. The hardest part about installing an security system actually has nothing to do with the installation. The hardest part was reading security system reviews and finding the right one. You should have no problems installing this device and it should only take you an hour or less.

The first thing you should do is put your dog or puppy in a separate room for a little while. This is assuming you have one of these. This is common sense, but the last thing you want happening to your new DIY security system is for a dog to chew it up like a new toy!

After it’s arrived, you probably already know how many sensors you have purchased. We suggest going around the home and marking off any areas where you plan on putting a sensor. Just use a pen and make a small dot. The dot will indicate where you want the sensor to go. You can basically do a mass peeling of all the sensors and stick them all on at once.

If you’re nervous, bring a friend along. It shouldn’t be difficult, but an extra pair of helping hands never hurt. If you can’t seem to figure something out between your friend and the directions, don’t be afraid to call up your new alarm system company for help. They should be able to answer in no time.
